Comment from Old-Thinker News: As the technological revolution impacts our lives more and more, there will be opposition. There will always be individuals who choose to opt out of new technology, providing balance in a tech obsessed society. What happens when choosing to opt out becomes a mark of suspicion? What happens when it becomes impossible to function without interfacing with wireless payment, social networks, and augmented reality?
“There will be no space in which you can escape your online profile.” YIKES!
Now that Google Glass has officially established itself as the newest buzzy gadget, a backlash is brewing, uniting the technophobic and privacy-obsessed to form an anti-cyborg movement.
A new site, called “Stop the Cyborgs,” wants to help organize those who want to “save humanity from the cyber collective.” They see Google Glass less like a cool way to livestream footage of yourself sky diving and more like the beginning of a violent Borg-like empire. Sorry, Sergey!
The creators also call Google Glasses’ ability to seamlessly record footage (without ever notifying the subject) a major threat to privacy. Can’t really blame them there. We’re also uneasy about mainstreaming creepshots!
as they move on in this race to become pretend gods in cyberspace; a light so bright they will not see and the truth forever that could be theirs will not be found - a great two songs for this article are ” the sleep of no dreaming” and “cheating the polygraph” both by porcupine tree
Opting out of participation in the global electronic economic system will be a life and/or death choice in the very near future. Many constitutionalists are already willing participants in this system.
The world envisioned vs the world that is emerging as a result of the spread of humanities scientific and technological “innovations” is not the utopia that its creators hoped for. As usual the carnal spirit rules the hearts and minds of man and the results of its overriding influence on humanity has led to a state of existence that is filled with the pursuit of “worldly desires”, i.e., the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life. All forms of human “social media” today are built upon providing humans various ways in which to satisfy their carnal human “desires”. The entire human economic system is built upon providing for these “desires”. Humanities capitalist economic system constantly produces a never ending array of “disorders” that consume the consumer, and instead of being free, humanity is a slave to its own creations.
