Cardinal: 2011 document’s call for ‘global authority’ does not mean world government

Comment from Old-Thinker News: In the 1970′s, the World Order Models Project - financed by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Rockefeller foundation - proposed “strategies of transition” into a new global era. Saul H. Mendlovitz, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, directed the project. The project proposed that, “Symbolic world leaders such as the Secretary General of the United Nations or the Pope might espouse [the WOMP agenda]… as a program for the future… These kinds of external developments… would initiate a world order dialectic within American politics.”

Cardinal Peter Turkson, the president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, told Vatican Radio that the council’s controversial 2011 document, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of Global Public Authority,” did not constitute a call for a world government.

“We never used that word,” Cardinal Turkson said in reference to government.
