Preserve what little independence, strength, and originality is left to the individual… raise him up vis-a-vis society: these seem to me the the primary goals of lawmakers in the age upon which we are just now embarking.” – Alexis de Tocqueville, describing early American success in his book Democracy in America, 1835
Trump says you have value. You can achieve anything. Individuals, each having their own unique strengths, collectively make our country strong. The President’s SOTU speech reinforced this message.
The predominant philosophy driving liberals, and in turn the failing Democratic platform, is fundamentally disempowering.
It says that you are a victim. Having no innate value or power, you are a victim in need of outside assistance. It is a black hole sucking the life force from those who subscribe to it. There is always an outside enemy to blame for lack of success or happiness.
This is a major reason why the liberal platform is self destructing. All we have to do is sit back and watch. It doesn’t need any help toward its inevitable fate.
The truth is that you do have power. Individuals can make a difference, and you can achieve what you put your will into.
