CFR President: “Serious Degree of Anarchy” on the “Wild West” internet

During a recent appearance on Bloomberg, Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haass lamented the destruction of international institutions and the lack of oversight to reign in “anarchy” on the internet

“The United States… has been the great preserver of international order… now we are the great disruptor…” stated Haass.

Haass continues to lament the demise of the TPP agreement and suggest that the United States under Trump is moving toward authoritarianism.

Regarding the internet Haass says “…In some areas we don’t have rules or institutions… take cyberspace, that’s the wild west… there aren’t enforcement mechanisms… there’s a serious degree of anarchy…”

Haass stated in 2006 that “Globalization thus implies that sovereignty is not only becoming weaker in reality, but that it needs to become weaker. States would be wise to weaken sovereignty in order to protect themselves…”

The Council on Foreign Relations was established as the U.S. branch of a global round table group in order to create a system of global governance. Carroll Quigley writes in Tragedy and Hope,

“This front organization called the Royal Institute of International Affairs, had as its nucleus in each area the existing submerged Round Table Group. In New York it was known as the Council on Foreign Relations…. In fact, the original plans for the Royal Institute of International Affairs and the Council on Foreign Relations were drawn up at Paris.”

Quigley elaborates,

“The powers of financial capitalism has another far reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole.”

  1. The current US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and his predecessor Michael Froman are CFR members. Other members include Bill Clinton, Dick Cheney and George Soros. Cheney and Soros are former CFR directors.

Haass and Clinton are also Rhodes Scholars, a program started by the Rhodes/Milner/Rothschild “Round Table” group to groom future leaders. Prof. Quigley was Clinton’s mentor at Georgetown Univ. See his book “The Anglo-American Establishment”, available online.

Bloomberg is a corporate sponsor of the CFR and Michael Bloomberg is a member. The “New America Foundation” pictured above is run by CFR members, including directors Anne-Marie Slaughter and David Bradley, owner of Atlantic Media.

  2. Hmmm

Currently there is no more powerful, effective and pervasive medium available for the elites to peddle their propaganda and lies (read steal the wealth, productivity and power from the common man) than the internet. The problem for them is there is also no more powerful, effective and pervasive medium available to the common man to counter that evil. What this pile of excrement is really telling us is that he is very, very angry that every time they have put the free speech internet genie back in their bottle, their own war against the people (read profits and power) are stifled in the process and even worse, the genie keeping popping back out of the bottle…..

About a dozen years ago I publicly pined that the elite were in the process of putting the “genie” back in the bottle. I was fairly certain at the time they would succeed. It now appears certain that I was wrong. Now I realize that they will never be able to keep the free speech internet genie in the bottle and still reap all the benefits and powers that medium gives them. This double edged sword presents them with a conundrum offering no outright solutions, only compromises which at this point they are not willing to accept. History tells us that the in the end, however fleeting their victory may be, the common man always prevails.

  3. The CFR is top five on the Public Enemy list.
