Is The United States Under a de-facto Social Credit System?

Update: According to reports, college applicants are being rejected for following Alex Jones on Twitter.

Mainstream media, in collusion with big tech, has created a system of public shaming and “de-personing.”

In 2015, Paul Joseph Watson wrote about China’s social credit score system, asking the question “Could such a system ever take off in America?”

The first step is already complete; Big tech has our personal data.

Facebook recently asked U.S. banks to share user financial data including transactions and account balances in an effort to boost user engagement with the app.

Matt Stoller, a fellow at the Open Markets Institute, stated after Facebook’s announcement that it is a sign that big tech is moving toward a social credit system in the United States. Stoller said, “concentrated tech power is moving us towards a dystopian social credit scoring system.”

The collusion between Big Tech and mainstream media to ban Alex Jones’ infowars as hate speech suggests that the leftist establishment is ready to adopt a Chinese style social credit system.

The difference in the United States is that this system, for now, does not have the massive government support that the Chinese system has. However, big tech has infiltrated our lives to such an extent that it still exercises a massive influence on society.

Big Tech has already collected enough personal information from Americans to create such a system. Facebook’s move to get personal banking information is a step further. Facebook has already built detailed psychological profiles on users. Amazon knows what you want before you buy it. Google home and Amazon’s Alexa are listening to what we are saying in our homes.

The problem for the globalists is that we still have a constitution. Our first amendment still lives. We still have alternative media to go to, and despite what MSM says, the general public has very little trust in big tech or mainstream media.

  1. The fact that we have the constitution is the very reason that the Left has turned to private enterprise to conduct it’s surveillance and censorship agenda.
